DesignWISE is developed by Professor Ida Engholm from the Royal Danish Academy and introduced in the influential book Design for the New World: From Human Design to Planet Design.

 

In the book, DesignWISE is presented in the final chapter as a proposal for a holistic oriented method for working with design and innovation development.

 

Since the book's publication, there has been considerable interest in using the method, prompting numerous requests for additional practical guidelines.

 

In autumn 2024, a handbook for working with DesignWISE will be released. Authored by Ida Engholm, Lotte Borg, Christina Funder, Brian Frandsen, and Henriette Melchiorsen, the book will initially be available in Danish and is scheduled for an English edition in 2025.

 

The models featured in the handbook have been tested through educational programs and consulting projects and will continue to evolve through ongoing development and testing. Thus, this DesignWISE website will also function as a platform for introducing new models, approaches, and guides to facilitate with DesignWISE.
